New Halloween Decorations!

Standard

I had a surprise waiting for me when I got home last week!

No, not a kitty-crayon or even a puddle of puke – and it sure wasn’t a letter from the Publisher’s Clearinghouse telling me I’d won a bazillion dollars. It was better.

Ok so not better than the Prize Patrol being on my doorstep. But since that scam game isn’t run over here, I was never in the running anyway.

It was these!

Aren’t they great?! We had to import them from the US, but going direct to the manufacturers saved a ton over buying them from the UK. My sister got these guys last year and I fell in love – but I had no clue iDJ had remembered and planned and got them for us.

They seem to be enjoying their new Irish environment. I know the cold and rain won’t bother them a bit! We do bring them in when it gets windy – after all, those styrofoam headstones have been found two houses over after a good blow. I was also a little worried that someone would steal them, but we are rather off the beaten track and not too many kleptomaniacs should be down at the end of our dead end road. Hopefully.

  1. Haha Skel-a-Flamingo!! Who would have thought!

Hum, and I was unaware of the ‘correct’ meaning of RIP πŸ™‚

Do you have a spare room just for Halloween decorations? You seem to have quite a few! It’s a shame you aren’t on a busy street, so more people would see it.

It’s funny that you used “styrofoam”. I recently had to deal with that word (for an article that will only be posted in a few weeks). It’s a brand name which entered our vocabulary as a common word. Remember we recently talked about that. I ended up looking up the proper word: “polystyrene foam”, and used that. Maybe I should go back and used “styrofoam” after all. If Spiders does, so I can πŸ™‚

So, ordered from the USA? Now that will help them pay back the Chinese πŸ™‚

  2. We’ve got quite the following amongst the local kids! It’s the only time I like them: when I get to make them scared πŸ™‚

We have an attic, thankfully – four boxes of Halloween stuff, which might need to go to five.

I didn’t know styrofoam was a brand! All I could think is that it really isn’t the right word, as I think the actual stuff is banned now?

I’m not worried about the debt. I’ve lived through people saying Japan was buying up America – where did that fear disappear to? I also remember how bad it was before Clinton took office. Whatever. I’m way more worried about all the nutcases that seem to have been elected!

  3. OH wow…. I don’t think I’ve ever loved anything more.. To honest I would use them for decorative purposes all year round.

Thoughts? Gardening tips? Cocktail recipes? Don't just like and leave, please - I can talk for Ireland and would love to prove it!
