Himself bought me a bunch of hyacinth bulbs. I love to have them inside, as I adore their fragrance. Can’t do that, with kitten-features about the place. I was rushed to get them into the ground, so I stuck them wherever I could. I’m well pleased!
First one to show her face. I found her fallen over and staked her up, to no avail. Broken off at the stalk, this one is now fragancing my living room. If you look closely, there is another flower head coming up on the right, so all is not lost!
I’m feeling a bit sorry I didn’t put them in sunshiney places. This, and the next one, never see direct sun.
So lovely, aren’t they? And the scent is incredible. Hope I get some bees having a sip.
My new peony has survived! Not being sure how old she is, I don’t expect flowers this year. I could be surprised! It’s the first one I’ve ever grown.
Indoors, my gerbera daisy plants are soooo happy. As am I, to see these beauties every day.
Scottie – these are the ones I reccomend to bring some light and colour of life into your home. They are rather expensive to buy, for a plant, but if you grow from seed like I did, they are never ending beauty.
Your hyacinths are so beautiful! I especially love the daisies too! Maybe I should plant a few flowers myself this year. Hmm… The thing is, though, I’m such a procrastinator when it comes to those things.
They give me great joy, and are very forgiving of our inattentive nature. It will sound quite odd but I thanked my gerberas tonight for being so beautiful and choosing to live with me.
To me, that doesn’t sound odd, it sounds like gratitude. I would hope I’d be grateful too.
Your flowers are so pretty!
Thank you! I do love them all.
Thank you good friend. How did you know I needed something bright, nice, wonderful and happy to see today. I love the flowers, and you. Hugs
We all need this! I think you and Ron should grow gerberas. Easy, small, and the flowers last for months.
OH we plan to. I grew them in west palm. They really did good. why are you up so late tonight? I have my health hearing Wednesday. Wish me luck. Hugs
I went to bed right after that! Best of luck, my friend, and I hope it isn’t too stressful.
I am to the point of “if it happens it does, if not OH well”. Ron did not like seeing me upset so he said forget it. IF you get it , it will be better, if you don’t we’ll just keep on as we have. It makes no real difference to him. He says he will provide, he always has. I have been so worried over it I got sick. SO we see in the morning on Wednesday. Hugs
Fingers and toes crossed
Oh, jealous, I can’t grow hyacinths, it’s too hot, even if I give them a sleep in the fridge for 6 months. The smell really is sublime and can’t be reproduced artificially, more’s the pity.
It is one of the best smells ever. I’ve grown them inside before, but they didn’t come back the next year.
Beautiful colours
And now it is snowing on them! Noooooo
Oh no. It doesn’t seem to be snowing here but I do have some plum and damson blossom out and don’t want snow or frost either!
Oh I hope not! I don’t have many food-plants, yet, so I think I’m good there. It’s the peony and the bleeding heart I’m worried for! They look so soft and tender.
It’s amazing how tough the plants are – hope they have survived!
What a lovely flowers🤗 love love love spring 💐🌹😊
Reblogged this on Wag 'n Bietjie.
Ah, thank you? I’m not used to anyone doing that!
