Still don’t have our Spottie boy back. Maybe tomorrow. He did look and act a lot better today than he did on Saturday. We got him purring: purring so hard you could see it. Then he got super worn out and started to fall asleep with his eyes open. Still not eating, however he has pooped (nutrition has been given via IV) so at least his bowels are working. His fur is clean, not all greasy and clumpy, which for me is always a sign of a very sick cat. No sign of infection, his incision is healing well and no fever. We won’t know if he has cancer or not until Friday, most likely.
Thank you all for your support, I really do need it and appreciate it.
I’m glad his coat looks good. I notice that with cats too. I hope he’s resting well.
He really loved me rubbing/brushing his face and eyes. He hasn’t had to wash his own face or ears since we got Lokii! Spot has always let me rub his eyes, he likes it.
My optimism was premature. I might be able to talk more later.
Aw damn.
I hope he continues to improve.
Us, too. Thank you.
Fingers crossed. Let us know as soon as you do.
Fingers and toes! I’ll know about 5 this eve.
He’s dying.
Thanks for the update! Fingers crossed over here too!
Thanks for caring! It will be a long day…
Go Spot!
He’s a fighter…
I’ve had many pets, both cat and dog, rabbits, white rats, even a calf or two. This all sounds very good. Eating of course, is important once off the IV’s but seems he may be out of his woods and going home. Fingers still crossed. xo
I do hope we are right to feel hopeful. I was a right sad mess yesterday at work, not having seen him on Sunday.
There is no doubt your fears are natural. Our pets are our family members! I had my two doggies tonight sitting on there sand pile, barking at the tv thru a window. Really just saying hello….. Again! But what a funny sight. Especially Bella, at 120 pounds! Hah, she could’ve just jumped thru and sat on the couch. I’ll keep you in my thoughts, hoping all is well. xxx
It certainly sounds like he’s a fighter!
A poop sure is a good sign!
Apparently not enough.
Oh dear, what is the latest news?
He’s dying.
How incredibly sad. We’re just coming out of losing our 16 year old boss cat – so hard but there is a lot to celebrate later. Give him our love and when you’re ready for yourselves, big hugs to you.
Hugs, hugs, hugs
Woohoo for poo! Only our children can make us happy about such things. I’m glad he has improved.
He hasn’t.
Oh hun, I’m so so sorry. Wish I was there to hug you.
Your posts about Spot have caused me to give my two cats even more attention, as I realize how devastated I would be for anything to happen to either of them. You are far stronger than I. You’re handling your pain, your fears, far better than I could. I salute you and am keeping Spot in my thoughts. Know I care. Hugs
No, I’m not. My optimism was premature. I don’t want to talk about it right now.
Don’t talk about it right now. Let some emotion out. You’re dealing with something incredibly painful. Give yourself time to deal with it all. Time to do what you need to. Put your energy to the important thing. We will all be here, we will all wait, we all care, we have our thoughts and energies directed to you and Spot. Hugs
He’s dying.
I am so sorry. My heart goes out to you. Sad but warm hugs
What a beautiful cat! Sounds like you’ve all been through a lot. Sending hugs from Jupiter and me your way.
My late and ex had a Cat Prayer that I might have mentioned before.. He was irreligious in all other respects but firmly believed in heaven for cats. I’m saying it for Spot now.
Just as I was pulling up your post, I glanced up and realized RC Cat was on the desk intently staring at me – like “waiting on new of Our friend Spot.”
They know. When a even a small sparrow is not in his expected place in the sky, it is noted by some. The realm is still in crossed paw mode.
HRH nodded at your news and said “Improved coat and pooping is a signal to his Staff that he knows of their concern and apprciates their dedication and care. We are requesting residents of the Realm to send solidarity in transitional times: seeking peace and comfort for Our beloved friend, Spot, and the staff who he has spoken so highly of and blessed with his presence.
He is dying… I am not going to be here for a while
I know. He knows love and belonging.
May wings of peace comfort and wrap softly around you all
I saw a post that said “Spot” in it, so I did a search to see if Spot was a cat. We had a cat named Spot too. I didn’t see any more posts about Spot after this one. So sorry.
Our “Spot the Cat” was a girl.
Yes, I have a post called He’s Gone. Just the title says it all. Miss his furry face still.
