What do you all think about Twitter? I’ve apparently had an account since 2009 but never used it… But I do have a lot of short, random ideas that aren’t worth a full blog post, but are toounwieldy for a FB update… who uses Twitter? Do you like it? Should I bother? I’m only tempted now because Betty White is on twitter and she is just the bomb…

Twitter is a curious platform. You’re probably right about using it to post random thoughts but we get the feeling that it goes shooting into the ether and is lost after it’s brief moment of glory – if anyone’s listening 😉 We use it to give brief location updates on a journey but reserve other content for the blog or facebook. Worth a try though but you’ll have to build up a following.
I made a twitter last year I think. But I actually never use it. For short messages I use my facebook. I don’t know what to think of Twitter. It looks like a trend that’ll be over in a few years. 😮
That’s what I thought back in 2009! I was surprised it was so long ago.
Haha, same here! 😛
Like you I’ve had an account for ages. I never use it and never look at it. Not sure why I ever bothered!
I’m set up on twitter and when I publish a new post it is tweeted. I follow a number of different subjects/people and what is tweeted varies. Twitter would be a good outlet for your brief random thoughts as tweets must be short. I’d follow you as your mind is quite entertaining.
Basically, I’d say give a try but don’t expect anything miraculous from it. Like WP it’s kinda based on reciprocity so, until you’re Betty White, the more folks you follow the more that follow you.
Hmm. I don’t know if I have time for that, I am already a couple days behind reading other blogs!
I was thinking, Spiders, that it may further spread thin your energies and make it harder to have space for your art.
Being Julz said it well: your mind is quite entertaining– and I want to see it here because **I** don’t have enough energies for fittering all over the place! So there!
What she said! Me too.
Go for it! And if you set it up, your new blogs will be carried there – I will retweet you (provided no cats – cats and tweets do not mix! )
Ha!
I love your last line! ( but twits? there’s only so much time…)
I had to read my post again. ‘I had a line?’ It was… 3 am. Yikes. Okay, so I think I have a second question for you all, then…
Hi! I’m late for this but I still want to answer. I’ve had an account for 2 years. For a whole year before I opened the account, my husband was telling me how cool it was and I just couldn’t get it.
Then I started and got addicted.
It’s quick and short. Surprisingly, I find it quite creative too, because when you say something cool and make it short it can look even cooler. I realized I sometimes create short fun stories, phrases, jokes specially for twitter – something I simply didn’t do before. I guess twitter can change (or add to) a usual format of thinking.
