“Black” ones…
…and one teeny tiny white and pink one.
All the multi-coloured ones are Aldi “pixels mix,” so I had no idea what would come up.
Now for scale!
Very different in heights! The tall one is the yellow and red spotted.
Most of this massively overgrown mess is black lilies, but there are red ones with black spots in there also – and the one wee white and pink one I only found today, hidden in the back. Including the pot, the tallest one is just about 5ft or 1.5m tall.
Wow…
I need me some lilies! O.o
I just need to find a way to deter lilly beetles and wait till later in the year to buy bulbs. >.>
I always plant in the spring! I know you can and probably should in Autumn. But by then I’m exhausted đŸ™‚
Yeah, but you can’t buy any bulbs yet. I’ll keep an eye out for somewhere
We have a pot of these in our garden: beautifully full flowering at the moment.
But it took some vigilance to keep the pretty little lily bugs at bay.
Same problem Kalamain had! I’ve not seen them, but I think I’d be squishing them…or taking to the garden of someone I don’t like! Lol
never thought of that last remedy (honest!)
Nah, I wouldn’t either. But squishing is well within my abilities!
I love day lillies. You have so many different ones. You used to see them all over when I was little, then they went “out of style” or something Delighted to see gardeners around here have rediscovered them, too
We’ve got the yellow ones you feature here. And also orange. Of course they are dormant at the moment, its winter and blinking cold!
Oooo, I’m sure it is… Do they even die all the way back to the bare earth there?
Yes … down t nothing.
You have some lovely shots of gorgeous plants here—sadly The Spouse is allergic to them, and once we found the cause all of ours promptly came out. A wee bit heartbreaking …
Oh no! How did you pin the allergy down?
Simply every time we came home (or went by some of them anywhere) in season, she reacted and quite quickly too.
Gorgeous flowers though …
Yikes. I’d be very sad to find out I was allergic to anything I grow. I’ve never heard of this in humans, but I know to keep them well away from my cats. Is she part feline? Despite your bully photo heheh
