Tigridia Tuesday – Week 1

Standard

Right, so – here we go! My first bloom was last week, on Thursday.

So here is Friday:

A twofer!

And Saturday:

I had two on Sunday but didn’t go out front until they were already drooping. Sorry!

Monday: a pink one!

And today:

Another twofer, but this one wanted a closeup.

And on another plant, one with a different shape.

Sad, isn’t it, to see the shrivelled remains of yesterday’s glory?

Hubby asked me did I think they bloomed at night, or early in the morning. I had trouble sleeping last night so I came downstairs at 4:30 am, and had a peek out the window – nope, they don’t. At 6:30, starting to unfurl but not fully open yet. By 9:30 when I leave for work they are perfect! No scent, by the way, just gorgeousness.

    • Yes! So much work the skinny little greenery puts into making that one flower so FAST and so beautiful, you’d think they would last longer! But as the seeds are viable, maybe that’s the main gimmick?

  1. These are just so RED. With stylish leopard spots even….nature always dresses well with so little effort.
Close to 100F this weekend – and for a few days. UGH. Little plants will be so sad and wilty. Me, too – tired of the indoors!

Thoughts? Gardening tips? Cocktail recipes? Don't just like and leave, please - I can talk for Ireland and would love to prove it!
